One butterfly who has flown to a ‘faraway place’…

One little bee who has BIG FEELINGS…

Two flowers helping her heal…

Every question has an answer, and together let’s explore Buzzy’s circle of life as she manages her BIG feelings.

When your child first hears about loss, it can feel scary and confusing for both you and them. This story-activity book is just what you need! As you read this story with your child, engage in the activities and explore different ways to talk about BIG confusing emotions!! Through interactive pages and engaging story about friendship and support, young readers will learn how to express their emotions and reach out for help when they feel lost or confused!

  • This book has interactive pages in which children can color, draw, paint, point to 'BIG' feelings, and are encouraged to talk about where in their body they feel those emotions and stick photos in a memory jar illustration. While some interactive pages require colors and art supplies that you may already have at home (stickers, photos, ribbons), no rules apply to what materials 'need' to be used!! The interactive pages are meant to engage children in the book and enhance their learning using fine and gross motor skills.

  • Loss can be of many kinds, not just due to death, but this book particularly focuses on learning how to express all the BIG emotions that come with grieving the loss of a loved one (humans or pets!). This also helps aid parents in having those difficult conversations with their kids to teach them about death in an informed, developmentally appropriate manner.

  • Using colorful illustrations of animals and flowers, this story takes place in a garden, with apple trees, beehive, and playground images that provide a comforting familiarity to the young readers.

  • The language and content are carefully edited and are appropriate for the developmental age of children between 4-9.
